Sharin' Jones
A few weeks back, a few friends and I went to the Sharon Jones concert at the Prospect Park Bandshell. With perma-smiles on our glowing faces, we joined a crowd of roughly 20,000 (a Bandshell record) where we danced, laughed and sang along to Sharon’s beautiful, soulful songs. Between her own dancing and singing, Sharon became so moved by the support of the audience that she began to cry....

I headed back to California to spend some time with my father. We’re often too busy for each other and don’t make time to talk as much as we should. So we secured some time and took a road trip up through the Northern California coastline.

The New York City Park and Rec Department kicked off the 2010 summer public pool season with a brief ceremony at Sunset Park’s Public Pool in Brooklyn.

Indian Day Parade

The yearly Indian Day Parade which travels down midtown Manhattan’s Madison Avenue is an elaborate afternoon filled with music, color and dancing. I made my way in and out parade, between performers and avoided the late afternoon rain to photograph the Indian celebration.
